The most common form of heart disease is myocardial infarction, commonly known as a heart attack. There are a few reasons we have so many heart attacks in the United States. Unhealthy diets, sedentary lifestyles, high stress jobs, take your pick.
In the 1970s, doctors performed several studies on the Inuit Eskimos of Greenland. Their diet was fatty but heart disease was surprisingly absent.
The key to the lack of arteriosclerosis was a fatty diet. "What?" you say. Whale blubber, salmon, sardines provided these Eskimos with a healthy dose of Omega-3 Essential Fatty Acids.
